Siri Hayes was born in Melbourne in 1977 and completed a Bachelor of Fine Art and then a Graduate Diploma of Visual Arts at the Victorian College of the Arts in 2001. Since then, Hayes has held a number of solo exhibitions (including Heide Museum of Modern Art, 2013) and has been included in many curated exhibitions throughout Australia (including Melbourne now, National Gallery of Victoria, 2013–14). Hayes’s work has attracted several awards, including the Olive Cotton Award for photographic portraiture (2006). Her work is held in public collections throughout Australia, including the collections of the University of Queensland, Monash University Museum of Art, Heide Museum of Modern Art, the National Gallery of Victoria and the National Gallery of Australia, Canberra.
