Craig Holmes (1956– ) was born in Brisbane. He began working in the newspaper industry in 1972. Holmes opened an advertising and commercial photographic studio in the early 1980s and has been the recipient of numerous national awards for professional practice including the AIPP Kodak Australian Professional Photographer of the Year 1993. Throughout his career Holmes has produced self-initiated social documentary projects working on topics such as Indigenous Australians, Ashtons Circus and others. He has exhibited nationally and internationally and his photographs have been collected by institutions in Australia and overseas.
