Deborah Paauwe
Born 1972

Deborah Paauwe (1985– ) completed a Bachelor of Arts (Visual Arts) at South Australia School of Art, University of South Australia in 1994 and was awarded the Anne and Gordon Samstag scholarship in 2000, which allowed her to complete her MA in Fine Art at the Chelsea School of Art in London. Paauwe’s works reflect on her childhood experiences and often involve girls and young women dressed in vintage clothing and posing with their faces concealed. Throughout her career, Paauwe has maintained an active exhibition profile both in Australia and overseas.
