Polly Borland (1959– ) is an expatriate Australian photographer who has worked out of London and Los Angeles. Borland graduated from the photography program at Prahran College in 1983 and quickly established herself as a leading fashion and portrait photographer, particularly through her work for Australian Vogue. Portraiture has remained central to Borland’s photographic practice, but she has increasingly turned these projects into conceptual series, with her subjects obscuring and augmenting their identities with fanciful costumes.
