Andrew Seward (1967–) is a Melbourne-based artist who completed a Bachelor of Fine Art at RMIT in 1991 and a Bachelor of Arts at The University of Melbourne in 1992. He began exhibiting his work in the 1990s and has focussed his practice on the botanical world. Throughout his artistic career Seward has used techniques such as fine pencil drawing and cyanotype photograms to explore different species of plants. In particular, Seward is interested in exploring cultural meaning and symbolism in the natural world. His works are held in significant collections both nationally and internationally, including the Natural History Museum in London and the National Gallery of Victoria in Melbourne.
