Peter Elliston (1940 –) has been a practicing photographer since the 1970s. He has a passion for the landscape and archaeology and is interested in capturing human interactions with the landscape. Elliston has photographed remote locations and is particularly interested in sites of ancient historical significance. His photographs have been widely exhibited and are held in important collections in Australia and overseas. Elliston has also produced a range of publications that feature his photographs. Elliston holds a Ph.D in Physics from Monash University and was Senior Lecturer in Physics at the University of New South Wales for 25 years before retiring in 1998.
