MARY DELAHUNTY is best known for leading ABC TV News and current affairs programs, the 7.30 Report and Four Corners. She has also received Australia's most prestigious award in journalism, a Gold Walkley, for her international Four Corners work. Whilst a Victorian Government Minister in senior portfolios with a strong record of participation in civic affairs she was Victoria's longest serving Arts Minister from 1999-2006.
MARY DELAHUNTY manages her own consultancy company, is a Director of several Not-For-Profit Boards: • Centre for Advanced Journalism, Melbourne University • Melbourne Recital Centre • Harold Mitchell Foundation • Elisabeth Murdoch Sculpture Foundation and is the Chair of Orchestra Victoria.
She has established a philanthropic residential Writer's Retreat in the Macedon Ranges, Writing@Rosebank in partnership with the Victorian Writers' Centre.
Her first book Public Life: Private Grief was published in Spring 2010. In March 2011 Mary was appointed National Director of the new cultural start-up company Writing Australia Ltd.
