INSIDE HOPPE’S STUDIO: AT MGA

Experience the magic of wet-plate photography with photographers ELLIE YOUNG from Gold Street Studios and STEVE TESTER as they demonstrate the process taking photographs with a large-format view camera and the steps to produce a wet-plate photograph (tintypes).

Watch this dramatic ‘instant’ process and experience the difficulties of working upside-down and back-to-front in a studio environment. This demonstration also has a hands-on element where you will attempt to coat your own plate with non-toxic materials to give you a taste of the challenge!
