Join in the City of Monash NAIDOC week celebrations from 7-14 July 2013.

This year's NAIDOC week theme is We value the vision: Yirrkala Bark Petitions 1963. This theme celebrates the 50th anniversary of the presentation of the Yirrkala Bark Petitions to the Federal Parliament. Through art exhibitions, workshops and activities we celebrate the unique contribution that Aboriginals and Torres Strait Islanders have made to Australia, and the unique connection they have with our country.

Monash's streetscape will be full of colour with the Badjurr-Bulok Munga (meaning "many women make") Exhibition. Bright and vibrant Indigenous artwork from four noted artists: Megan Van Den Berg, Lee Darroch, Mandy Nicholson and Emma Bamblett will be displayed in bus shelters and other JC Decaux advertising displays.

You'll be able to view all of the Badjurr-Bulok Munga Exhibition works in this tour. On the way, you will stop at the Highway Gallery and be invited to see Aboriginal portraiture painted by artist Amanda Wright.

If you would like to continue your art experience, stay on for the final stop at the Monash Gallery of Art where you will be greeted by the Gallery staff for some light refreshments and will be able to see the Carol Jerrems photographic exhibition.
