Don't miss this great chance to hear MGA Director Shaune Lakin and our photographer of the moment Rod McNicol talk about portraiture and photography. Shaune and Rod will discuss some of the historic and contemporary influences that have informed Rod’s work, notably the portraits in our current exhibition Memento mori. Rod will also be signing copies of his new book The existential portrait.

MAPh acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land, the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung and Bunurong People, and recognises their continuing connection to the land and waterways.

We pay our respects to their Elders past, present and emerging and extend this to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People.
