Slow Art Day is a global event with a simple mission: help more people discover for themselves the joy of looking at and loving art.
MGA is hosting a 'long look' at one artwork: Lloyd Godman's large-scale work 'Evidence from the religion of technology'. This session will be facilitated by MGA Volunteer Melinda Haldane who will encourage you to discover the work through close observation and utilising 'Visual Thinking Strategies' (VTS) for 20 minutes. This fun interactive session will fill you with questions about the work!
On hand to answer all those questions will be the artist Lloyd Godman who will deliver an artist talk and invite visitors to add an object to a collaborative photogram that will expose over the course of the talk.
1.30-2pm The Long Look!
2-3pm Lloyd Godman artist talk and collaborative photogram
Please bring along a non-precious item to lend to the photogram (it will be left unattended outside).
