When sculpture meets photography - an artist talk with Penelope Davis
2-3pm Sunday 13 May at MGA
Penelope Davis is a Melbourne-based artist whose practice often combines sculpture with cameraless photographic techniques. In creating the works on display in Antipodean emanations: cameraless photographs from Australia and New Zealand Davis began by creating silicone moulds of books and a camera, which she then used to create resin casts, before placing these newly created sculptures in direct contact with the light-sensitive paper in the darkroom.
Bring your mum for a day out at the gallery and discover more about Penelope Davis' practice directly from the artist.
