Coinciding with Katrin Koenning's exhibition Swell, which proposes a view of nature and wildness that is more psychological than intrepid, and offers a contemporary take on the environmental photography of the 1970s and 80s, MGA presents this fantastic opportunity to work directly with the artist to find your own unique voice and approach to documenting the world.
Over the course of two consecutive days, Katrin Koenning will guide participants along photographic thinking and exploration of our physical and emotional connection to place and environment, and to that which surrounds us.
Studying a variety of theoretical and practical methodologies and challenges to ecological and place-based image making, the course will draw on notions of photographic practice as a ‘being-in-the-world’. Katrin will provide in-depth insight into her own working processes and influencesas well as intensive portfolio reviews of each participant’s individual work.
Cost: $495 incl. GST for non-members, $465 for Friends of MGA
Course duration: 10.00am - 4.00pm both days, Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 May 2019
