Join MGA Director and curator of STAGES Anouska Phizacklea in conversation with artists Isobel Knowles and Van Sowerwine as they discuss their collaborative practice and new work in STAGES: photography through the pandemic.

Knowles and Sowerwine have collaborated since 2001, first making narrative-based stop-motion films, then moving into immersive installation, photography and expanded cinema. Their interactive works speak to an audience’s imaginations directly by engaging them both physically and emotionally. Investigating narratives of community, childhood and metamorphosis, their work disrupts normal perception and bridges the gap between on- and off-screen realities.
