ONLINE EVENT
During lockdown, artists Isobel Knowles and Van Sowerwine spent most of their time in one room of their house. They then recreated this room in miniature from memory for our current exhibition STAGES.
Isobel and Van have collaborated since 2001, first making narrative-based stop-motion films, then moving into immersive installation, photography and expanded cinema. Their interactive works speak to an audience’s imaginations directly by engaging them both physically and emotionally. Investigating narratives of community, childhood and metamorphosis, their work disrupts normal perception and bridges the gap between on- and off-screen realities.
In this workshop you will choose a template to create and decorate an item that is in your room, then make smaller objects like plants, books and games to go with it. Once finished, Isobel and Van will help you photograph it in the same way they photographed their own miniature objects, you can then print out a photo.
Templates, to create and decorate will be emailed to those registered for the workshop.
