Join us for this easy and fun workshop making ‘golden portraits’. We are making these in response to Annu Palakunnathu Matthew’s beautiful artworks that are currently on display as part of Visions of India: from the colonial to the contemporary.
Kids will have their portraits taken at the beginning of the workshop. These portraits will be printed and used to create our ‘golden portraits’. We will admire Annu Palakunnathu Matthew’s artworks in the gallery for some inspiration, then head to the library meeting room to create our own masterpieces.
We will use layering of different materials and photographs to create beautiful imitation orotone prints. Kids will be able to design and decorate their own frame mount.
- Kids can take their artworks home at the end of the session
- All materials are provided
- Kids will be using scissors as part of this workshop, workshop facilitators will supervise and help where required
- Guardians must consent to child’s photograph being taken as part of this workshop
