Join MAPh Senior Curator Angela Connor in conversation with Bowness Photography Prize finalists Yhonnie Scarce and Tobias Titz to discuss their work and the ideas and concerns that continue to drive their art making.
Yhonnie Scarce is a Kokatha and Nukunu artist whose interdisciplinary practice explores the political nature and aesthetic qualities of glass and photography. Her work often references the ongoing effects of colonisation on Aboriginal people; in particular, her research has explored the impact of the removal and relocation of Aboriginal people from their homelands and the forcible removal of Aboriginal children from their families.
Tobias Titz is an acclaimed award-winning photographer based in Melbourne, Australia. Over the last 15 years Tobias has collaborated with Indigenous communities in the Pilbara, Arnhem Land, Tiwi Islands, South and Central Australia creating photographic artworks.
