A National Gallery of Australia Travelling Exhibition
Monash Gallery of Art is delighted to present its major international exhibition of 2015, Impressions of Paris: Lautrec, Degas, Daumier, Atget featuring over 120 prints, posters and photographs drawn from the collection of the National Gallery of Australia.
A major contribution to French art of the nineteenth century was made by four key figures: Honoré-Victorin Daumier, Edgar Degas, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, and Eugène Atget. Each of these artists embraced modern subject matter through innovative compositions that played a significant role in artistic developments in France during their lifetimes.
This exhibition is supported by the National Collecting Institutions Touring and Outreach Program, an Australian Government program aiming to improve access to the national collections for all Australians.
