Forevermore is a photo series created by Matthew Peter Karak and Wilhelm Philipp. The work captures quiet landscapes of the Wheelers Hill area, detailing its natural beauty. Forevermore acts as a love letter to Karak’s lifelong home area of 26 years. These works capture a memory of his adolescence and early adulthood and are a dedication to the Wheelers Hill community past, present and future.
Karak is a photographer from Wheelers Hill, Melbourne. His work focuses on creating art, publications and clothing under MPK STUDIOS.
Philipp is a photographer from Box Hill, Melbourne. His work documents the landscapes and subjects of Australian suburbia, through imagery and words.
To coincide with the exhibition MGA is also launching the publication Forevermore, which includes an introductory poem by Walkley award-winning writer Mahmood Fazel. A mixtape by James Vaf will play at the opening event.
MGA exhibition space, the Atrium Gallery, provides emerging artists with an opportunity to showcase their practice to MGA’s audiences. The Atrium Gallery is situated between MGA and the Wheelers Hill Library.
