In Crafted environments: portraits of the creative, Jacinta Keefe invites viewers to step into the intimate worlds of her friends as they engage in their artistic practice. This collection of portraits reveals creators in their working and creative environments – whether it’s a sunlit writing nook, a vibrant studio brimming with colour, or a quiet café corner where melodies take form.
Opening these spaces to the lens is an act of vulnerability, offering a glimpse into the heart of creativity. Each photograph captures not only the artist, but also the environment that nurtures their work – spaces filled with personal meaning, energy, dreams and untold stories. Through the photographer’s lens, Keefe’s aim is to honour the delicate, often magical moments when inspiration strikes, and the quiet joy found in the act of making.
Jacinta Keefe is a proud Wiradjuri woman with blood ties from the Galari Bila (Lachlan River) in New South Wales. Now based in Naarm (Melbourne), she is a passionate visual artist with a foundation in photography, and a deep appreciation for live music.
