The TOPSHOTS! 09 award and exhibition acknowledges both the talent of the students involved and the hardwork and dedication provided by their schools in encouraging their students to achieve their best.

Monash Gallery of Art invited entries from all schools in the Eastern and Southern Metropolitan Secondary School Regions in Victoria.

We received 163 images from 57 entrants, 19 shortlisted student's work will be on display from 16 April - 23 May 2010 at Monash Gallery of Art.

The TOPSHOT award was judged by Australian photographer Bill Henson and presented to the most outstanding work.

Sylvia Pam, the winning student received a photography prize pack worth $250 and her school will receive a workshop run by a contemporary photographer for students and teachers in 2010.

MAPh acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land, the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung and Bunurong People, and recognises their continuing connection to the land and waterways.

We pay our respects to their Elders past, present and emerging and extend this to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People.
