Jill Orr (1952–) completed a Master of Fine Arts at RMIT in 1994 and a PhD at Monash University in 2012. She has been working as a performance artist since the late 1970s and since then has established herself as one of the most important performance-based visual artists in Australia. Her performances have been documented in photographs, which have been widely exhibited in Australia and overseas and are held in a number of important collections. Orr uses her own body in her performances, which often take place in the landscape and focus on environmental issues.
