I was particularly drawn to the depth and richness of the indigo blue inherent in cyanotype techniques. Such techniques enabled me to create a tangible element of connection between the artwork and myself, fostering a personal collaboration with natural elements from the poetic process.
The physical printing of the work and role that UV, natural sunlight plays in the development of my work is inspired by British artist, John Wolseley who is influenced by what he sees and feels around him, capturing the movement of his environment, participating with nature to produce his pieces.
This poetic approach to the natural resonated with my intentions to both convey and collaborate with nature in order to produce a work that is reflective of the many wondrous elements of the natural environments and ecosystems that I’ve visited throughout my travels around Australia.
