In this photographic series, I wanted to showcase the interconnected relationship between art and skin, using the human figure as a canvas. I decided to use black-and-white photography to highlight the contrast of tones between the light skin and dark lines of the tattoos, further heightening the impact of the inked skin. Through my images, I explored a sense of masculinity through the male form, which may communicate feelings of awe amongst viewers through the thought-provoking and stimulating imagery. I decided to magnetically pin these photographs to the wall as the photographic rag paper, being prone to damage and destruction from not being in a frame, highlights the vulnerability of humans and the fragility of life.
