These works focus on anxiety in public spaces. They depict feelings of internal chaos and being overwhelmed through hyper-colour line work as well as transparent distortion and layering of buildings, resulting in visually chaotic compositions that evoke anxiousness. The movement presented in the work is reminiscent of the anxiety that many of us experience.
The works of Max Dupain and Andreas Gursky inspired my series. I aimed to employ the digital manipulation techniques that Gursky uses in his large-format images to engage the viewer with my art. Dupain's documentary style also influenced me to capture different perspectives on individuals' lives with anxiety. The images in this series connect in through the abstract aesthetic and the human figure, yet they differentiate to appeal to the viewer's personal experience with anxiety.
