‘Let the boys play’ is a visual journey that seeks to encapsulate the spirit, essence, and unabashed freedom of childhood – a journey filled with boundless imagination, unfiltered joy, and the undying spirit of adventure.
This project is inspired by my childhood moments growing up in Nigeria, and aims to highlight the importance of creating a safe space where men of all ages are free to be themselves.
In a world often constrained by expectations and conventions, I hope 'Let the boys play' allows us to realise that before we became adults shackled by a plethora of complications, we were once children, and our happiness was all that mattered to us. Our laughs were genuine, our tears were temporary and our imagination unending.
At its core, 'Let the boys play' is not just for the 'boys'; it's a call to embrace authenticity, to see our old experiences with new eyes and to experience forgotten happiness with a single flick.
