I use photography to explore intimacy and identity through a queer, trans (agender) and First Nations (Māori) lens, and to celebrate contemporary queer existence.
‘Ash in the window’ depicts my friend, Ash, in his housemate’s bedroom in Northcote, Victoria, hidden in the soft afternoon shadows donning small bandages shortly after having had top surgery. Ash reached out to me before they underwent surgery and said he would love to document this pivotal moment in his transition. It was an honour to be invited into and trusted during such a vulnerable and intimate moment.
