Damien Shen (1976– ) is an Adelaide-based artist with Chinese and Ngarrindjeri heritage. He completed a Bachelor of Visual Communications (Illustration) at the University of South Australia in 2000 before working as a graphic designer. He has been focussing on his artistic practice since 2013 and held his first exhibition in Adelaide in 2014. Shen is now known for his portraits that explore his own identity through the documentation of his ancestry. He uses a range of media to create his works, including drawing, painting, print-making and photography.
